TLU SA calls on South Africans to inform 10 fellow citizens about what expropriation without compensation exactly means, its impact and why it may not be implemented.
Do we understand the price of expropriation without compensation?
There is still a great deal of ignorance among South Africans about what the Expropriation Bill entails and its impact, especially in the long term.
Two processes took place simultaneously, namely where the ad hoc committee in Parliament had to make proposals to Parliament on the amendment of Article 25 of the Constitution to provide for expropriation without compensation. Then there was also the process of establishing a new Expropriation Act within which the proposal also provides for expropriation without compensation.
“Residents of the country must know that this is not just an agricultural problem. This is a South African problem,” said Mr Bennie van Zyl, General Manager of TLU SA.
